چکیده
The root-mean-square of non-relativistic warm dark matter particle velocities scales as vhrms(a)=vhrms(1)/a , where a is the expansion parameter universe. This velocity dispersion results in cut-off power spectrum density fluctuations due to free-streaming. Let kfs (teq) be free-streaming comoving wavenumber at time equal densities radiation and matter. We obtain 68% confidence, from observed distributions galaxy stellar masses rest frame ultra-violet luminosities. result consistent with reionization. From mass we limits vhrms(1)kfs >1.5 Mpc-1. These are agreement previous measurements based on spiral rotation curves, formation first galaxies measured parameters determine temperature-to-mass ratio happens no freeze-in freeze-out scenario spin 0 particles decoupling early standard model sector. Stellar Velocity Dispersion of the Leo a Dwarf Galaxy
We measure the first stellar velocity dispersion of the Leo A dwarf galaxy, σ = 9.3 ± 1.3 km s. We derive the velocity dispersion from the radial velocities of ten young B supergiants and two Hii regions in the central region of Leo A. We estimate a projected mass of 8 ± 2.7 × 10 M⊙ within a radius of 2, and a mass to light ratio of at least 20± 6 M⊙/L⊙. These results imply Leo A is at least ∼8...
متن کاملVelocity Dispersion Profile in Dark Matter Halos
Numerous numerical studies indicate that dark matter halos show an almost universal radial density profile. The origin of the profile is still under debate. We investigate this topic and pay particular attention to the velocity dispersion profile. To this end we have performed high-resolution simulations with two independent codes, ART and Gadget. The radial velocity dispersion can be approxima...
متن کاملReionization and decaying dark matter.
Gunn-Peterson tests suggest that the Universe was re-ionized after the _tazldard recombination epoch. We present a systematic treatment of the ionization process by deriving the Boltzmann equations appropriate to this regime. A compact solution for the photon spectrum is found in terms of the ionization ratio. These equations are then solved numerically for the Decaying Dark Matter scenario, wh...

متن کاملThe Dispersion-Velocity of Galactic Dark Matter Particles
The self-consistent spatial distribution of particles of Galactic dark matter is derived including their own gravitational potential, as also of that of the visible matter of the Galaxy. In order to reproduce the observed rotation curve of the Galaxy the value of the dispersion velocity of the dark matter particles, 〈v2〉1/2 DM , should be ∼ 600 kms−1 or larger. PACS numbers: 95.35 +d, 98.35 -a,...
